or drop one onto the script box — it stays on your device

voice-follow scrolls only while your mic hears you talking — it reads volume, not words, and falls back to timed scroll if the mic is blocked.

I recorded a little video for my shop and kept glancing down at my notes, losing my place, sounding wooden. The teleprompter apps all wanted a monthly subscription to scroll my own words up a screen — for something a web page does in a few lines. So I made this: paste the script, and it drifts upward at whatever pace feels calm, big enough to read from across the desk, with a mirror mode for the glass rigs. No account, no watermark, nothing sent anywhere. Two takes later I was done, and I sounded like myself.

How the prompter works

  1. Paste your script. Straight into the box — or open a .txt/.md file. Either way it never leaves your browser.
  2. Set the feel. Speed, size, width, colours, and mirror mode for beam-splitter glass.
  3. Choose how it moves. Steady timed scroll, or flip on voice-follow so your own pace drives it.
  4. Press start. A gentle 3-2-1, then your words scroll where you're looking.
  5. Steer as you go. Space to pause, arrows to nudge the speed, tap a line to drop a pacing mark, esc to step out.

Why telepromp

Little questions

Can I record at the same time?

Run this fullscreen on one device below your camera, and record on the camera itself — the classic setup. A combined record mode is on the roadmap.

Why the mirror option?

Beam-splitter rigs reflect the screen, flipping text. Mirror mode pre-flips it so it reads correctly. Reading straight off the screen? Leave it off.

Will it remember my script?

Yes — your script and settings are saved in this browser, so they're waiting for you next time. Nothing is uploaded; empty the box to clear it.

Is voice-follow actually listening to my words?

No — it only measures how loud your microphone input is, the same way a level meter would. There's no speech recognition and no audio ever leaves your device; it simply lets the scroll wait for silence and move while you're talking.

What if the report shows I ran long?

That's the point of rehearsing with it — a section that took longer than its share of the 140wpm estimate is usually where you slowed down, ad-libbed, or lost your place. Mark it and try that stretch again.
